It suits repeat visitors to India who've already spent time in Delhi, or first-timers on a strict schedule who would rather see all three cities properly in four days than only two of them in six. Every transfer is by private air-conditioned car, so the shorter timeframe comes from a tighter schedule, not from cutting corners on comfort.
Day 1 — Arrive in Delhi, Afternoon Sightseeing
On arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, your private guide and driver meet you at the terminal — no navigating pre-paid taxi queues or currency counters alone after a long flight. A quick transfer gets you to your hotel with enough time to shower, change and grab a coffee before heading straight back out, since this compressed itinerary doesn't have a spare rest day built in. The afternoon covers Delhi's essentials in one focused sweep: Humayun's Tomb, the elegant red-sandstone precursor to the Taj Mahal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in its own right, followed by a drive past India Gate and the wide colonial-era avenues of the government quarter around Rashtrapati Bhavan, with a stop at the towering Qutub Minar if the light and traffic allow. Day 2 — Delhi to Agra, Agra Fort & Taj Mahal Sunset
An early departure — ideally before 7am — for the 3 to 4 hour drive to Agra along the Yamuna Expressway, with a rest stop partway if needed. Checking into your Agra hotel by late morning leaves the afternoon free for Agra Fort, the imposing red sandstone citadel that served as the main residence of Mughal emperors before the capital later moved to Delhi. Your guide walks you through the fort's palace courtyards and marble pavilions, including the octagonal tower where Emperor Shah Jahan was reportedly imprisoned by his own son with only a distant view of the Taj Mahal he had built for his wife. Day 3 — Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri
Depart Agra by mid-morning for the roughly 5-hour drive to Jaipur, broken up by a stop at Fatehpur Sikri along the way. Built entirely from red sandstone by Emperor Akbar in the late 16th century as his new capital, the city was abandoned within a single generation after its water supply failed — leaving behind one of the most astonishingly well-preserved ghost cities in India, its palace courtyards, mosque and towering Buland Darwaza gateway essentially untouched by later development. Most short itineraries skip this stop entirely to save time, but it adds only about an hour and gives a genuinely different Mughal-era experience from Agra Fort or the Taj Mahal. Continuing on to Jaipur, you'll arrive by early evening with enough daylight left to wander a local bazaar, watch the city's famous pink-washed buildings catch the last light, or simply settle in and rest before a full day of sightseeing tomorrow.
Day 4 — Jaipur Sightseeing & Departure
A focused, efficient morning covering Jaipur's three unmissable sights before your departure. Start early at Amber Fort, the honey-coloured hilltop fortress overlooking Maota Lake, with the option of a jeep ride up to the main gate to save time and energy. From there, head into the old walled city for the City Palace complex, still partly home to Jaipur's former royal family, before a final photo stop at Hawa Mahal, the honeycomb pink façade built so the palace women could watch street life below unseen. Depending on your flight time, there may be a short window for last-minute shopping in Johari Bazaar for gemstones or Bapu Bazaar for block-printed textiles. Your private vehicle then transfers you to Jaipur airport for your onward or international departure flight, with the tour concluding as your flight departs — four full days, three cities, and the Taj Mahal, without the extra time the standard 6-day route allows.
