The Kutch Mahotsav, also known as the Rann Utsav, is an annual festival which attracts tourist to the region of Rann of Kutch, which is also one of the biggest salt deserts in the world. This region is blessed with a rich and vibrant culture apart from the mesmerising natural beauty. This festival is organised by the Tourism Department of the State of Gujarat, it commences every year in November and lasts throughout the winter, attracting millions of visitors annually. Unlike Gujarati cuisine, Kutchi cuisine is made with minimal oil, does not have a sweet flavour, uses freshly grounded spices and can be considered as one of the healthiest cuisines in the world. Staples of Kutchi cuisine such as bajra and jowar rotla, garlic chutney, osaman chutti khichdi and buttermilk is a must try during the Kutch Mahotsav.

Kutch Mahotsav is incomplete without an overnight stay in tents and camps along the Rann of Kutch. This experience is quite enchanting and memorable as the beauty of the salt deserts amplifies under the moonlight and the stars. Stargazing by a bonfire is often considered a must-do activity during the Kutch Mahotsav.

Visit the Wild Ass Sanctuaries in the Region
This is the only place in the world where one can find the endangered species of the Indian Wild Ass along with more than 30 species other endangered birds and animals such as the blackbuck, the desert fox, jackal, the Great Indian Bustard etc.
Visit the Mandvi Beach
A perfect destination for beach lovers, travellers can visit the Mandvi beach and enjoy a nice even stroll on the beach watching the sunset. Also, many nearby villages located close to the beach such as Khadva, Bhirandiya and Gandghi-Nuga are famous for their handicraft fabrics and textiles and are regularly known to arrange various workshops related to handicraft fabrics and textiles which is very popular among tourist.
