Overview of South India Karnatka & Kerala

The South India Karnataka and Kerela Tour is irresistible to miss. It embarks on a journey of 13 nights and 14 days relishing the cities of Chennai, Mahabalipuram, Kanchipuram, Bangalore, Mysore, Mudumalai, Ooty, Coonoor, Cochin, Alleppey, Kovalam, and Trivandrum.

You will be received by our staff at the Chennai Airport on the first day. You will be taken for sightseeing Chennai's St. Thomas' Cathedral, the Bronze Museum and Mylapore Temple on the second day after which you will be taken to Mahabalipuram. After enjoying the temples, we will be traveling to Bangalore via Kanchipuram, a pilgrimage center of Hindus on the fourth day. We drive towards Mysore en route visiting Sravanabelagola on the fifth day. We will be touring to Nandi Bull, Chamundeswar and summer palace in Mysore. A drive to Mudumalai, one of South India's largest wildlife reserve marks our seventh day.

We travel to Ooty on the eighth day to board a steam train to Coonoor. We then drive towards Cochin on the ninth day exploring Jewish Synagogue and Kochi Harbor on the tenth day. Then you will be taken to Alleppey to board your Houseboat towards Kovalam. The next two days will be spent relaxing on the beach and sightseeing in Trivandrum. On the fourteenth day, you will be transferred to Trivandrum airport for your onward journey.

South India Karnatka & Kerala Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Arrive Chennai

    On your arrival at Chennai airport or railway station & welcome by Colourful Indian Holidays representative, you will be transferred to hotel for 01 night.
    Chennai – the capital of Tamil Nadu is the 4th largest city in India and a major commercial centre in South India. This city was the first British major settlement in India. Known as the ‘Gateway to South’, Chennai presents culture that is distinctly different from North.
  2. Day 2: Chennai – Mahabalipuram drive (58 Km)

    After breakfast, today enjoy Tour of Chennai visiting the St. Thomas’ Cathedral which houses the grave of St. Thomas the Apostle, the Bronze Museum, Mylapore Temple etc. Later drive to Mahabalipuram. Arrive and check in at hotel for 02 nights stay.
  3. Day 3: Mahabalipuram

    Morning breakfast at hotel and later visit Mahabalipuram – ‘the city of the seven pagodas’. Witness the breath-taking display of the pagodas or “rathas”, the “Penance of Bhagirata,” the world’s largest bas-relief in stone and the only shore temple, dedicated to both Vishnu and Shiva in its sanctum. Overnight at hotel.
  4. Day 4: Mahabalipuram – Kanchipuram – Bangalore drive (340 Km)

    After breakfast drive to drive to Bangalore en route visiting Kanchipuram.
    Kanchipuram, the city of 1000 temples is one among the 7 most sacred pilgrim centers of the Hindus. The city was the capital of the early Cholas till the 2nd century BC and a Pallava capital between the 6th & 8th centuries. Later continue drive to Bangalore, arrive and check in at hotel 01 night stay.
  5. Day 5: Bangalore – Mysore drive (140 Km)

    Breakfast at hotel and later enjoy sightseeing in Banagalore (drive past) and then drive towards Mysore en route visiting Sravanabelagola. Arrive and check in to hotel for 02 nights. Relax & overnight at hotel.
  6. Day 6: Mysore

    Morning after breakfast Tour of Mysore city including visit to the summer palaces and the 2,000 year old temple of Chamundeswari. Nearby see the Nandi bull, a 16 foot high sculpture adorned with garlands and bells. It was all done out of a single stone. Later Tour the summer palace of Karnataka’s ruler Tipu Sultan at Srirangapatnam that has remarkable wall paintings.
  7. Day 7: Mysore – Mudumalai drive (100 Km)

    Breakfast & drive to Mudumalai, one of South India’s largest wild life reserve. Arrive and check in at hotel for 01 night stay. Later enjoy Elephant ride inside the park – Limited Elephants are available at this park. Overnight at hotel.
  8. Day 8: Mudumalai – Ooty – drive (57 Km) & train to Coonoor

    Early morning enjoy game drive inside the park. Later back to hotel for breakfast and drive to Ooty. Board the steam train to enjoy a trip from Ooty to Coonoor enjoying spectacular views of Eastern slopes of the Nilgiris Hills. Upon arrival in Coonoor and transfer to your hotel.
  9. Day 9: Coonoor – Cochin drive (260 Km)

    Morning drive to Cochin. Upon arrival transfer to hotel for 02 nights stay. Rest of the day leisure at hotel or free for individual activities. Overnight at hotel.
  10. Day 10: Cochin

    Breakfast at hotel and later sightseeing Tour of Cochin this morning we’ll visit the Jewish Synagogue, one of the oldest in India. Dutch Palace well known for its mural paintings. Also see the Chinese fishing nets in operation, at the entrance of Kochi Harbor….they are a fascinating sight. Evening enjoy Kathakali dance performance. Overnight at hotel.
  11. Day 11: Cochin – Alleppey drive (60 Km)

    Morning after breakfast, drive to Alleppey to board your Houseboat. Cruise on the Vembanad Lake towards Kovalam. Overnight in Houseboat.
  12. Day 12: Arrive Kovalam

    Morning disembark and travel to Kovalam (Trivandrum). Upon arrival check-in into hotel for 02 nights. Later enjoy sightseeing in Trivandrum and relax on the beautiful beaches.
  13. Day 13: Kovalam

    Day at leisure to relax on the beach. Overnight at hotel.
  14. Day 14: Kovalam – Trivandrum

    Today you will be transferred to Trivandrum airport or railway station for your onward journey.
